A fun mish-mash

Last week, Jin from Superficially Colorful ended her 1 year blogiversary giveaway/ nail art contest... and I was lucky enough to win!! :) :) I entered both the Rafflecopter and the nail art contest and I won in the rafflecopter drawing... The theme of the nail art contest was FUN and I just wanted to share my entry with you guys because I really liked that mani :)

This pink and sparkle filled mani was based off of my idea of fun with my friends...

Last time I went out with my bff, I ordered a Raspberry Lemon Drop and it was soo yummy....I based my mani off the pink color and the sparkly sugar around the rim....and of course when I go out with my girlfriends I love to get all dolled up and so sparkles and color were definitely a must for this mani :)

My right hand...The pink I used was Zoya's Gei Gei, the silver sparkle is SOPI Sparkling Personality, and the white with neon glitter is Jindie Nails Candyland Remix. I also topped everything with Northern Lights Holo top coat in silver and gold too...then I topped the pink nails with some silver flakes to give it some bling :)

For my left hand I used the same colors but I tried something different...I opted to not use the silver flakes and then I put a coat of Sparkling Personality over Gei Gei on my ring finger and used striping tape to give a negative space of Gei Gei in the Sparkling Personality...and once again Northern Lights Holo topcoat on all the nails...

Glow in The Dark Comparison

I love a good glow in the dark polish and with Halloween coming up next month I've got 3 Glow in the dark polishes to compare.

First we have Ghoulish Glow from China Glaze (left), then Sephora by OPI in Full Moon (middle) and lastly we have OPI's Zom-Body To Love (right... I bought this in OPI's Spookette set so it's the 4 Halloween mini set)

This is how it looks on the nail. I used 3 coats of the China Glaze, ans SOPI. For the OPI I had to use 4 coats.

Ok... On my pointer finger is Zom-Body to Love. This was really sheer..this was four coats and it still wasn't a really opaque green. In the middle we have SOPI's Full Moon which came out last Halloween and I was lucky enough to pick up 2 bottles of this. This color is streaky..but it evens out by the time you put on the third coat. Last up, we have Ghoulish Glow on my ring finger. This is 3 coats as well but I could've just as well gotten away with using only 2 coats.

See the glowy-ness of the nail..hehe so pretty! As you can see the SOPI in the middle glows the brightest then its the China Glaze on the left and last up is the OPI on the right.

You can see clearer here that the SOPI in the middle is the brighters the China Glaze on the right is next and then the on the left the OPI is like a dim lightbulb compared to the other two...

 When I came around to remove these polishes the SOPI one stuck the most. However, with that being said... I didn't wear a top coat with these...last year when I wore Full Moon with Seche it chipped really quickly... The OPI was a bit hard to remove as well but nothing a little scrubbing with a cotton ball that couldn't remove..The china glaze was breeze to remove but it didnt chip either.

Harry Potter asks...are you a Slytherin or a Gryffindor?

So lately the buzz is all about Harry Potter...i gotta say the last movie is AH-MAZING~ if you havent watched it yet then you really should go see it..and in 3d if possible...you wont regret it... anyways onto the manicure ^_^ on a sad note one of my nails (my pointer finger) chipped last week..so I ended up clipping it to a shorter length and since I couldn't stand only one nail of my right hand being shorter then the rest I had to cut all of them to a shorter length on that hand so I apologize in advance for the nubbly fingers >.<  so like my title suggests I couldn't decide whether to go Slytherin or Gryffindor so I ended up doing both...

This mani was ridiculously easy to do as long as you have the shatter polishes that seem to be all the craze now...

I started with 2 coats (it doesn't really have to be neat except for the finger you plan on leaving with out shatter) of this No Miss polish in Hutchinson Hunter that I bought from Down to Earth... It was the perfect deep Slytherin green color that I wanted...

then after it was all dried I put on a layer of OPI's Silver shatter on all my nails except my pointer finger which I left plain...

then on my pointer finger I added 3 silver rhinestones....

then I used 2 coats of this Eleanor polish in ENP039 that my friend bought for me from Sasa in Hong Kong...I felt that this was the perfect red for the Gryffindor style..

then I used Sephora by OPI's new gold shatter polish for the rest of my nails except my pointer finger....

on a quick sidenote.. I think its so funny that OPI used Shatter, China Glaze used Crackle, Color Club used Fractured and thus since most of the other verbs were taken SOPI was stuck using Blasted....*sigh* so many verbs that mean all the same...

and then I used 3 gold rhinestones for the pointer finger...

Cats, Water, and Fish.. thats all...

So like the title of this post, I was inspired by fish...well mainly by this necklace I made...

When I saw the fish and the blue crystals I thought of cats and fish...and having small fingers I didnt want to stamp fish on all my nails so this is how I interpreted it...

I started with 2 coats of Sephora by OPI- Havana Dreams ( totally forgot to take a picture before I began stamping..sorry!)

then I used Sally Hansen's- Blazing Blue to stamp.. using plate04 from my bundle monster pack I used the "splash"-like design for my pinky, middle, and pointer finger and the fish skeleton for my thumb...

Then using a white nail art polish I stamped a white outline of a cat from Konad plate S10

Then I filled in the outline with the white polish, let it dry then stamped it again with a black nail art polish to give it an outline (as you can see mines is a little crooked...i need to practice this technique more >.<)

Then I put on a layer of OPI/Katy Perry- Last Friday Night to give it some glitter (for the ring finger I painted around the cat..)
