Stripes with shimmer

Like I said last time school is back in full swing..so I might not be able to post regularly. That being said I just did a simple striped manicure..
Here are the materials I used..

Sally Hansen- Wet Cement,
OPI/Katy Perry- Teenage Dream
LA Ink- Black nail art polish

I started with two coats of Sally Hansen- Wet Cement

Then I added 3 vertical stripes to each of my nails...

Then, alternating the empty spots I added a layer of OPI/Katy Perry- Teenage dream to the gaps to add a shimmer to the whole manicure.

I like this mani because the glitter add some pizzaz to the whole manicure. It's girly but still not too loud and its simple to do :)Pin It

A rushed mani...

Today I finally swatched China Glaze- Millenium... it is so drop dead amazing
At first I was skeptical whether to buy this one or not but I read from many blogs that people use this color when they Konad so I figured if it didnt look good on my nails alone I can just use it to Konad...
The silver is very reflective...very nice on its own I think...Then as a quick nail art I added China Glaze- Meteor Shower..*i didnt clean it up yet so its a bit messy...

I think a part of me was inspired by the Sephora logo... overall the shiny-ness of the silver contrasts really nice with the dark navy of Meteor Shower and the glitter in Meteor Shower is nice too ;)

Swatches of my new polishes...

Now that spring break is over and school is back on track I feel like I may have less time to play with my nail.. >.< so sad... we'll see though.. anyways a few days ago I posted about the new polishes I bought...

and I swatched one finger of each color but I didnt post those pictures..

First was this No Miss polish.. personally I've never heard of this brand before but I was shopping around at my local Down to Earth store and these polishes were on sale and the gorgeous blue-purpley shimmer in the bottle caught my eye. It's so pretty!

Next was China Glaze- Candie... this was 2 coats on the nail..it still looks good but I think I'd use this over another base color to give it more oomph.. *the pink glitter is ah-mazing....its a totally different glitter then the OPI/Katy Perry- Teenage Dream..

Then came Nubar- Prize... this is the 3nd bottle of Nubar I have..but the first that I could use as a color on its own...I have Nubar 2010 and another Nubar that is more of a glittery coat that I use as a top coat instead of just polish...I think this color is nice but it doesn't really compliment my skin tone that well..I think I'll end up using this for when I do nail art...

Then came Essie-Sew Psyched.... I've been lusting after this polish for the longest time ev-er! Living here in Hawaii there's not many places that sells Essie or even if they do, I dont have a wide array of colors to choose from..I found this little baby on Amazon for 5.99 plush 1.50 shipping I think...waaay worth it...I'm soo glad I bought this!

And finally OPI Designer Series-Radiance.. This silver is so reflective...its pretty stunning...there's not much I can say about it ;)

Then before I took off everything I tried a coat of Candie over the DS-Radiance...the peachey Candie over the Reflective silver gave this an overall milky white/grey color...very interesting combo.... and then over the No Miss polish it subdued the hot pink color a bit and gave it some glittery-ness...

From then to now I'm happy/sad to say I bought some more to my collection. I'll be swatching and taking pictures of them soon ;) ciao~Pin It

Pastel Rainbow Mani~

Okie doke...I finally went through with it!... a couple days..er a week? maybe more ago... I posted a picture of a pastel rainbow mani that I was thinking about doing and today I finally went through with it...

Here's what I used..Sally Hansen- White On as a base coat since I wanted the other colors to pop and show without me sponging a million times.. then for the Rainbow I used OPI for Sephora- How Cute is That?, Havana Dreams, and IM Beauty

Using a regular cosmetics sponge I swiped on the colors and how I wanted it to be on my nails..

As you can see after the first "sponging" its reaaally light still yet...so you have to wait for it to dry (relatively quick since its such a thin layer) and then repeat..(swipe on polish onto sponge..then sponge onto nails)
This is what it looks like after the 3rd "sponging" but I wanted the colors a bit darker so I went ahead and did it a few more times...its totally up to you how dark you want the colors...

After you finishing sponging you just have to clean up around the cuticles a bit because sponging is a wee bit messy...

Then i slicked on a coat of OPI- I Juggle...Men to give it a bit of shimmer...and a Fimo flower just because its almost spring... top it all off with Seche and voila! a Pastel Rainbow Mani <3

My Feminine go-to...

Ok so last night I posted some lovely things that I added to my collection..and today I brought home another lovely color...first I have to say I've love love love girly colors...my go-to "feminine" color has always been OPI for Sephora- A True Romantic but now that Sephora increased their prices to 9.50 a bottle...I've promised myself to not buy OPI for Sephora anymore..with that being said I needed a new "feminine" go-to color and I found it in OPI's Femme de Cirque collection... I bought Step Right Up which is a sheer pink color...absolutely gorgeous! This is 2 coats plus Seche Vite topcoat

In the end I added a coat of OPI's I Juggle...Men (also from the Femme De Cirque collection)

I added the I Juggle...Men to give it a bit of sparkle...you cant see it unless you look closely but it gives it a nice shimmer..Pin It

A bizarre evening...

The other day I wasnt planning on doing this mani...I was going to do the pastel yellow, blue, red one that I posted..but lo and behold..as I was about to get started I heard a crash and a pop from downstairs and wham...my power goes out... >.<

I took out my candles and sitting in the dim light decided to do a simpler mani..

This was my little work area...this picture was taken with flash but it was actually quite dim.. on with the mani~
I started off with 2 coats of Zoya's Harley.. Harley is such a nice grey/lavender.. I love how it looks like a dirty lavender in the sunlight but in natural light it has a grey hue to it...

Then I used my craft scissors to cut some tape up...and stuck it to my finger to paint my other color on...

The other color I used was Zoya's Kelly,...I like this overall mani.. hehe *kinda messed up on the middle finger thats why the Kelly section is bigger..i was too lazy to take it off and re-do ;)

Saint Patricks Day Mani...Take 2

Ok so I know I did a Saint Patricks day mani a couple days ago but last night i was bored and i really wanted to do my nails...

I started with 2 layers of Sephora by OPI- How many Karats as a base layer for my next color..
Then I added a coat of China Glaze-In the limelight.... i wasnt liking this overall look so i took the whole thing off and put back the 2 layers of How many Karats

I decided to do a green gradation type thing... and then to pull the look all together I added a coat of NYX nail polish...i forgot the name..ill edit and add in later... and then I added a fimo kitty to jazz it up..

(i got lazy on my right hand..so i didnt do my ring finger and im planning on doing my pointer later today... hehe)Pin It
