Lemme see your peacock ;)

Today's title is inspired by the Katy Perry song- Peacock.. and so I did a peacock tail-like mani with one of my new bundle monster plates...

For this mani I used OPI- Suzi Loves Cowboys as my base color and then I stamped with China Glaze- Midnight Kiss and Revlon- Golden

I was trying to go for a really opaque gold image stamped onto the dark brown (kind of like the effect of China Glaze-Millenium on OPI Russian Navy in my Midnight Dots Mani) so I kind of tested it out by swiping a layet of Suzi loves cowboys onto a plastic sheet and then swiping the other 2 colors on top..I liked the effect but it didnt turn out as opaque as I would like it..

I started with 2 coats of OPI's Suzi Loves Cowboys
Then I used the peacock-like design on BM-212 to stamp

I stamped 4 of my fingers (not the thumb) with China Glaze Midnight Kiss but I only stamped on my outer half of the nail to give it sort of like an exaggerated tip effect..
and for my thumb I used Revlon- Golden... I think I liked the midnight kiss more just because the shimmer of the midnight kiss was still very visible where the Golden was more of a dull finish...

Nail Fail....

Today I was all excited to play with my new Bundle Monster plates and do a fun girly pink heart mani... but like the title of this post says...it was a disaster :( here's my first Nail Fail post...i'm sure there'll be more along the way as I continue to blog but here goes....

It looks okay from this pic. but close up it wasnt up to my standards so after I took the pictures for this post I took off the mani...

I started with 2 coats of my favorite pale pink , its from the Femme De Cirque softshades that OPI released not too long ago this is Step Right Up..

Then using my new Bundle Monster 202 plate I stamped the heart onto my ring finger using OPI/Katy Perry- The one that got away... I think it was destined to disaster when the heart went semi crooked onto my finger...to try to salvage it I treid to stamp it again...

I then used these 3d nail stickers my friend bought for me in Hong Kong (sorry about the sideways pic...i cant seem to rotate it right...o_O sorry~) and stuck them onto the rest of my fingers..and rhinestones onto my middle finger..

voila~
I think I may be a little dramatic when I say its a major fail...but to me its not up to my standards... >.< I promise to have a better mani for you guys next time... till then have a great day :)

More Floral Goodness..

I was soooo stuck on today's manicure... I know its a bit of a cop-out since I've already done a floral mani before but I was inspired for today's mani by Gilly Hicks shopping bags... do you guys know what i'm talking about?

I knew they had the red and blue but this spring season I started seeing the green ones and I was inspired to do a multi-color floral mani... I used the same technique as seen in my Flower Girl Mani...

For the base colors I used China Glaze- Something Sweet for my thumb, OPI- Skull and Glossbones for my pointer finger, China Glaze- Sea Spray for my middle finger, OPI- Stranger Tides for my ring finger, and OPI- Steady as she Rose for my pinky... ^still playing around with my new OPI-Pirates collection...loove!!^
oh yea...2 coats for opacity ;) *I know in this picture Skull and Glossbones and Stranger tides look like dupes but I swear they're not!! If you look at the final mani below you can clearly tell they are totally diff. shades*

For the flowers on my pinky I used a combo of Zoya-Faye and OPI- Sparrow Me the Drama...

On my ring finger I used a combo of OPI- Mermaid's Tears and OPI Not like the Movies

My middle finger I used OPI-Planks A lot..... *yes I gave in to temptation and bought this one too, thus owning the entire OPI pirates collection* and China Glaze- Electric Lilac

For my pointer finger I really wanted to have orange flowers but I thought China Glaze- Peachy Keen was a tad bright so I toned it down with OPI- Steady as she Rose..

Then finishing off i used OPI- The One that Got Away and dulled it a bit with Steady as she Rose...

For the leaves I used Revlon Matte Suede- Emerald City

Voila~ As you can see the flowers don't necessarily have to be round or perfect...even if it's a wee bit bumpy that's totally okay because a good top coat (like Seche Vite) will even things out :)Pin It

OPI Pirates of Caribean Swatches ^_^

I totally loooooove this collection...I think this is the first time I've ever purchased almost the entire collection of polish... Out of the 7 introduced I purchased 6... the only one I didnt buy was Planks a Lot...

Here are all the colors I bought including my ALL-time FAV~ the Silver Shatter

First off we have Mermaid's Tears which is this really nice and creamy jade green color... I reached full opacity with 2 coats... the top picture is with tungsten white balance and the 2nd is custom white balance and its more to the 2nd pic's color...

Then we have Skull and Glossbones.... I'm a sucker for greige colors and this one does not disappoint..this is like a lighter shade of melted coffe ice cream...or khaki pants....once again full opcity with 2 coats...and 1st pic is tungsten white balance and 2nd pic is custom white balance...

next we have Steady as she rose... this may seem similar to the Skull and glossbones but dont let the second picture fool you...there is a distinct hue of pink in this color which makes it a great feminine color..with 2 coats you can still kinda see my nail line but I feel that it was opaque enough for me...

Next up we have a bolder milky pink creme color Sparrow me the drama... at first I was hesitant about this color but I've grown to like it...its a creamy pink and full opacity was reached in 2 coats... it was hard to capture the true color of this polish but i'd say its somewhere in the middle of the 2 pictures (tungsten wb in 1st and custom wb in 2nd)

and then we have stanger tides...this is my absolute fav. in the collection. its a milky green/greige color...I looooooove...it has that hint of green but its not too green..❤

and then....drumroll.....the Silver Shatter... oh my goodness....it is AMAZING! at first I was once again skeptical because I had a hard time working with Black shatter but this went on like a dream... it crackled perfectly and I love love love the results... I put if over Stranger tides and I like the subtle effect it gives off...from far away it seems like a silvery mani but when you look closer the greige/green color peeks through... love!!

Here I experimented with some other light colors...I'll probably experiment with darker colors next time..
 Over Stranger Tides..
 Over Zoya's Adina
 Over China Glaze- Peachy Keen
 Over China Glaze Re-fresh Mint

 Over China Glaze- Something Sweet..

looove the shatter....what do you think? ♡
